MNP Tata Docomo to Vodafone Experience

Porting from Tata Docomo to Vodafone was Easy. I just sent an SMS

PORT 9xxxxxxxx5

to 1900.The number starting with 9 and ending with 5 is my tata docomo number which I want to port to Vodafone India.

Now I got a message from 1901

Hi!Your UPC is TL8xxxx5 & this is valid till 12-2-2017.Pls disclose the UPC only to recipient operator personnel at point of sale & not to any other person.

Visit a SIM card vendor of Vodafone and show this UPC number and get a new Vodafone sim card.

Four days later , I got a sms from Vodafone :

Hello!Your Porting Request TL8xxxx5 dated 01Feb17 has been approved by your current operator.We will communicate the porting date and time shortly.

The next day, tata docomo range went missing.So I removed the sim and inserted the vodafone sim.What happened next was Vodafone sim network was showing in the mobile phone.I tried a call on the new connection. You get connected to the company call centre for sim online verification. Carry the identification document with you.They will ask details from the Identification document and once it is done, the process is over.You are now a Vodafone mobile prepaid customer.
