These days we are seeing a lot of indian answers to web 2.0 ideas like orkut, youtube,digg,facebook etc.Big Adda can be rated as a site intended to serve the purpose of orkut and youtube.Basically the registration is free.They are spending heavily to get user registrations and claims good user addition.Now a registered member has a initially a friend called Boss which is the site owner.Then he can add his friends and grow a network.
The following are the features:
1.) Can add members and get new friends.Grow a network around you.
2.) Can share photos in albums and view pictures from other albums.
3.) Share and view videos.
4.) Can make communities called Addas for some topic of common interest.
5.) Can join forums and run them.
6.) Can make and read blogs.
7.) Scraps (as in Orkut) are called Scribles here.
8.) Can share and hear music.
9.) Photos are tagged.So you can find them easily.
The design in good.Kudos to the designer to make an indian version of youtube and orkut sort of site.There is not anything there better than what orkut or youtube offers.They have put some ads also.In orkut the way they put ads is excellent.It is amazing that Bigadda in it's beta version has put on ads since they have lot of money being from the relaince group.They could wait for users to buildup and then put ads.They have been even putting Google ads.The funny part is that even they are showing ads of a competitor networking site.The delivery of images is poor.The images cannot be saved on right click.But when you choose view background ,we get the required image and then you can save it.Video playback is ok.
Even though Bigadda is not expected to beat either Youtube, orkut, Facebook or Others, they may still drew some crowd.
